CMC Verified as a Level III Trauma Center

CMC is pleased to announce that is has been verified as a Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons.

Catholic Medical Center (CMC), a member of GraniteOne Health, is pleased to announce that is has been verified as a Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The verification, which comes from the ACS’s Committee on Trauma Verification Review Committee, recognized CMC’s dedication to providing the best possible care for injured patients. CMC is already designated as a Level III Trauma Center by the State of New Hampshire. 

“The team at CMC is already known to provide nationally-recognized care to emergency cardiac and stroke patients,” said Lu Mulla, Vice President of Clinical Program Development, who oversaw the verification process. “Verification as a Level III Trauma Center by the ACS shows that we are committed to giving patients the same quality of care for any kind of traumatic event.”

According to the ACS, the Committee on Trauma’s Verification Program “promotes the development of trauma centers in which participants provide not only the hospital resources necessary for trauma care, but also the entire spectrum of care to address the needs of all injured patients. This spectrum encompasses the pre-hospital phase through the rehabilitation process.”

In addition to providing the resources at the hospital to care for trauma patients, CMC has a strong community education and outreach program. The hospital has donated  Stop the Bleed kits to local schools and organizations, provides education on the Stop the Bleed campaign donates life-saving AED equipment to civic organizations, promotes hands-only CPR instruction at community events and schools, and has deployed telemedicine technology and life saving heart monitors to several ambulance companies to do both rapid stroke and emergency cardiac assessment.
