Weighing your weight loss options—the staff at CMC’s New England Weight Management Institute (NEWMI) has been helping patients meet their weight loss goals for more than two decades and has grown to become the state’s largest surgical weight loss program.
At NEWMI, we view obesity as a complex chronic disease that often requires multiple types of treatments to control. We'll work with you on many fronts to treat this disease. For long term success, we believe in providing you with education on nutrition and exercise principles along with behavioral tools to develop healthier eating habits. In combination with surgical and medical treatments for weight loss, you will have what you need to successfully maintain a healthy weight lifestyle.
Recognized as a comprehensive center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), we have developed a multidisciplinary team of bariatricians, surgeons, advanced practice providers, registered dieticians and an exercise physiologist experienced in surgical weight loss (bariatric surgery), medical weight loss (bariatric medicine), and meal replacement plans (OPTIFAST®). Our team has a proven track record of success in helping patients achieve weight loss both with and without surgery.
Whether surgical weight loss or medical weight loss is right for you, our dedicated nutritionists and exercise specialists will support you every step of your weight loss journey.
