CMC, as a Commission on Cancer (CoC) accredited hospital, uses a multidisciplinary approach, bringing together a wide array of surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and other cancer specialists to create a patient-centered plan of care unique to each individual. Leading Edge Cancer Diagnostic Services

The earlier your cancer is detected, the better. Our state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services at CMC allow our physicians and surgeons to get the information they need to get you the care you need. We are a Designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, using Low Dose Computer Tomography to help detect lung cancer early, when it’s most treatable.

Surgical Care

Should you require surgery, we have some of the most experienced surgeons in the area. We are the first hospital in the region to use the daVinci® Surgical System (robotic surgery), which has been used to successfully treat a variety of cancers. 

Robotic surgery has been used to successfully treat a variety of cancer and can:
  • Improve surgical outcomes
  • Reduce blood loss
  • Help reduce pain after surgery
  • Improve healing time  
Interventional Oncology

CMC is pleased to offer a number of innovative minimally invasive, effective treatments for cancer that reduce pain and suffering while offering hope. Our Radiology Department’s interventional oncology program features several cutting edge procedures. The following procedures represent a minimally invasive approach to cancer treatment, thus reducing pain and suffering while offering hope:

  • Yittrium-90 for treatment of liver tumors
  • Microwave ablation
  • Kyphoplasty

Located on the CMC campus, we are proud to partner with the Dartmouth Cancer Center Manchester which has been designated as one of only 49 National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the U.S. Dartmouth Cancer Center Manchester brings research-based cancer care to southern New Hampshire. In addition to treating all forms of cancer and providing onsite chemotherapy, the center’s research-based approach offers highly specialized care. We treat all forms of cancer and provide on-site chemotherapy. This allows patients to receive nationally-recognized care right in southern NH.

Dartmouth Cancer Center Manchester is a research-based facility and offer patients access to the latest cancer treatments through various clinical trials.

CMC’s cancer program has been accredited by the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer for over forty years. Dartmouth Cancer Center Manchester has earned accreditation from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer and named one of only 69 Comprehensive Care Cancer Centers in the United States by the National Cancer Institute.

Patients needing inpatient cancer treatment stay in the Murphy Unit at CMC. The Murphy Unit provides medical and surgical care and focuses on most forms of cancer treatment, pain management and palliative care.
